Welcome to the blog for Elder (Kevin) Irwin.  Currently, he is away serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Ecuador Guayaquil South mission.  While serving, his communication with family and friends is very limited.  Family members get one email per week from him, while friends have to rely on good ol' fashioned snail mail.  But, to help others out, we (his family) have decided to make this blog to post his letters.  That way, you can keep up with how he's been doing, and what life like a missionary is like.  If you want to send Elder Irwin a note, fill in the contact us form, and we will pass it along for you.

Thanks, and enjoy!

Hi Family,

Well, its about the same here. Not a whole lot has gone on since Friday. We did have a baptism on Saturday which president johns came to baptize him. So that was fun. This guy who got baptized has waited over two years to get baptized but wasnt allowed to until this past week. So now hes baptized and looking forward to getting sealed to his wife. So hes happy, his wifes happy, and we`re happy.

This is the last week of this transfer, so next week things will probably be a little different. Chances are that i will probably have a new companion, which will be ok.

Hows everybody doing? Im doing pretty well. We had a really good week. On saturday we had the baptisms of Maricela and Sharon (a mom and her daughter). They werent able to get confirmed because we had stake conference but they will next week for sure. IT was a really neat baptism. I got to baptize sharon (the 10 year old little girl) and she was just adorable. Shes like a super genius kid who reads and is the top of her grade but she also loves to put on shorts, a ball cap, and place a nasty game of soccer and shes not bad at it either.
